Bus Kahan Hai? – Real-Time Karachi Bus Tracking (GDG Kolachi Hackathon Winner)

“Bus Kahan Hai?” is an innovative web application designed to make public transport in Karachi smarter and more commuter-friendly. Built during the GDG Kolachi Hackathon (and awarded 1st prize), the app leverages the Gemini API and Google Maps to provide real-time bus tracking, live route suggestions, nearest stop guidance, and timely arrival alerts for Karachi’s People’s Bus Service.

Commuters can enter their current location and destination to get the best route recommendations, see live bus positions, and receive notifications before their stop arrives. The solution aims to reduce waiting times, improve safety, and make city travel more predictable and convenient.
